The English Language Teachers' Association Ulm/Neu-Ulm (ELTAU) has been running since 2003. It brings together teachers of English as a Foreign Language (EFL) in southern Germany. We are a not-for-profit organization run by volunteers.
Our members, both native and non-native speakers of English, come from all teaching sectors. Our goal is to provide a forum for sharing experience and developing professional expertise.
During the year we run seminars, talks, workshops and informal "idea exchange" sessions on a wide range of subjects relating to EFL. The emphasis is on practical teaching and training ideas. Our speakers and facilitators come from the local area and other parts of Germany, as well as from abroad.
Members are able to learn more about specialized fields and developments in areas such as Business English, Computer Assisted Language Learning (CALL), Cultural Awareness and Methodology. Publishers' presentations and book displays keep members abreast of EFL materials on the market.
ELTAU offers its members the opportunity of networking with other EFL professionals, as well as informal social contact with friends and colleagues.
Membership costs just €35 a year, and new members can join at any time.
